The Municipality of San Lorenzo Ruiz continues to uphold local traditions and community observances that form part of its cultural identity. Among these is the Boyuboy Festival, which is reflected in municipal and tourism-related activity announcements and forms part of the municipality’s local celebrations calendar. These observances serve as venues for community participation and the promotion of local culture and traditions.
Religious Heritage
The Municipality of San Lorenzo Ruiz was formerly known as Imelda. By virtue of Republic Act No. 6708, approved on February 10, 1989, the municipality was renamed San Lorenzo Ruiz. The change of name established a distinct historical and religious identity for the municipality and remains an important part of its official history.
Agricultural Traditions
Agriculture remains one of the important sectors in the Municipality of San Lorenzo Ruiz. Provincial and regional agricultural records indicate continuing support for pineapple production and farmer development initiatives in the municipality. These reflect the continuing role of agriculture in local livelihood and in the economic life of the community.

San Lorenzo Ruiz is one of the municipalities of the Province of Camarines Norte and is composed of 12 barangays. Based on the 2020 Census of Population, the municipality has a population of 15,757. Community life in the municipality continues to be shaped by local governance, barangay participation, public programs, and shared civic and cultural activities.
